This happened to Travis and I about fourteen years ago, while we were on an investigation on the Lone Star Trail. We had been getting reports from people we would meet on the trail that you did not want to camp about six miles up from the trail head.

This area is near Cold springs Texas. We had not made it into that area yet. We had been spending time on the other side of the trail head So like all good researcher’s we began to make plans to get in this area and do so...

Strange Night At Stubblefield Lake

Well I’ll tell you I’m no ghost hunter, but because of some of the places we do our field work, we do run into some very strange stuff. Deep in this remote part of the National Forest there has been a few body’s dumped and it’s sad to say more than one hunter has been killed by other hunters who mistake them as deer.

We also do field...

FieldReport: The River

Posted by b garrett on July 3, 2012 at 1:15 PM Comments comments (0)

The night had cooled off and had become nice. We sat in the darkness by the water for a good while, just listening to the frogs and a gator somewhere in the distant. Fish was hitting the water feeding and I wish I had my poll to throw out a few time. I was laughing at Travis because the frogs were so loud it was all he could here in the earphones and it was hurting his ears

We desided to Move on to a very remote area away from the water and set up for sound. It was very dark sitting in t...

Hoaxing Whats The Point..

When I go into the field what I look for is a good clear photo of the big man, or some good video. I also look for foot prints to cast or even an audio recording to put in my library. I would love to find some good DNA. I have to tell you that field work in damn hard work,I mean it is hot and dry in my neck of the woods and sun stroke is always a worry with us.

What I’m saying is this work is hard enough and sometime with only little to show for your efforts. When you...

March

We recently spent four days in Lake Conroe/San Jacinto river area. Camped in the campground in a spot further back. The first night we set two game cameras up in a spot that served as a good corridoor and crossing spot. Close to evening we could hear an obviously primate scream sounding much like a guelia coming from the woods behind the camp. That night there was much activity around the camp in the trees behind us and on the other side. Many more vocali...

Friday three of us went to an area near Coldspring, Tx to scout an area to place a camera trap. We chose to place the trap in this area due to activity witnessed by two of our researches last year. As we were walking the trail to the area of interest we found several tracks leading off a game trail onto the main hiking trail(Lone Star Hiking Trail) and photographed the better ones. We decided on the placement of the camera trap and left the area.

 Later we drove to...

We are currently doing a hunt in an undisclosed area of The Sam Houston National Forest in East Texas. I have had many experiences in this particular area and am now conducting a hunt there with some others of our organization. We are in the third day of our investigation at this point. On the first day we took canoes to an island that I was camping on a few weeks ago.

While on this island c...
